Many bamboo nappies put plastic against your baby's skin. Ours don't.

Here's something worth knowing about "bamboo" nappies: in many of them, the bamboo is only in the absorbent core, hidden in the middle. The topsheet - the layer that actually touches your baby's skin all day and all night - is often a synthetic spunbond material. Check the ingredient list, if the brand publishes one.

Our topsheet is bamboo viscose. It's a naturally smooth fibre that's soft, breathable and temperature-regulating, and it wicks moisture away from the skin into the core rather than letting it sit on the surface.

Yes, and more so than most. There are two kinds of "chlorine-free" in this industry. Most nappies use ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) pulp, which avoids chlorine gas but still uses chlorine dioxide in bleaching. Our core is TCF - Totally Chlorine Free - which means no chlorine compounds at any stage. Only oxygen-based processes are used.

When a nappy says "0% chlorine", it's worth asking which kind they mean.

Nappy rash can spring up from nowhere - particularly during teething and weaning - so no honest brand can promise you'll never see it. What we can tell you is how our nappies are designed to reduce the risk.

There are no fragrances, lotions or harsh chemicals against the skin. The bamboo viscose topsheet is naturally breathable and temperature-regulating, keeping little ones comfortable. And because bamboo wicks moisture efficiently into the super absorbent core, wetness doesn't rest against your baby's skin - and trapped moisture is the main driver of irritation.

Yes - they're designed for full-time use, day and night. The bamboo viscose topsheet draws moisture quickly into the TCF pulp and SAP core, which locks it away from the skin so wetness doesn't sit on the surface while your baby sleeps.

From the start we set out to balance an environmentally gentler nappy with real performance. There's little point bringing a nappy to market that leaks through the night - a "green" nappy that fails just means more nappies used.

Our nappies are a T-shape design: the stretchy side panels are separate pieces attached to the nappy body, rather than cut from it in one piece.

That sounds like a small detail, but it matters. Separate elastic panels give a wider, more adjustable fit around the waist, hold their stretch better as your baby grows and moves, and provide better coverage across the back - the blowout zone. In practice it means a better fit for longer, so your baby stays in each size longer too.

Every child is unique in this department, but as a rule of thumb per 24 hours:

• 0-3 months: 10-12
• 3-12 months: 8
• 12-18 months: 7
• 18 months+: 5-7
• Once potty trained: 1
• Once night trained: none!

Here's the honest answer: no disposable nappy in the world is 100% biodegradable, whatever the marketing says. Be careful of any brand claiming otherwise.

What we can tell you is what independent testing showed. Our nappies underwent official biodegradation testing by SGS, one of the world's largest testing and certification organisations, and two thirds of the nappy biodegrades within 75 days. For comparison, a conventional nappy is estimated to take up to 500 years to decompose.

In your general rubbish bin - please don't flush any part of a nappy. If you'd like to go a step further, wrap them in a biodegradable bag first.

We'll be straight with you: South Africa doesn't yet have composting facilities that accept nappies, so landfill is where every disposable nappy ends up, whatever the brand. The difference is what happens next - and that's where the SGS testing above comes in.

Two things: what's in them, and what happens to them afterwards.

Every ingredient in our plant-based wipes scores a 1 or 2 - the lowest hazard ratings - on the EWG Skin Deep database, which rates personal care ingredients from 1 (lowest concern) to 10 (highest). Many mainstream wipes contain ingredients scoring far higher. You can look our ingredients up yourself at ewg.org/skindeep.

And the wipes themselves are 100% biodegradable plant fibre - no plastic, so no microplastics shed into waterways.

No - please bin them. Although the fibres are biodegradable, no wipe breaks down fast enough for plumbing, whatever it's made of, and "flushable" claims are one of the industry's worst habits.

Through our own initiatives, we also provide discounted access to our bamboo sanitary pads for community drives and organisations working to improve menstrual health. We believe every woman and girl deserves access to safe, comfortable and high-quality period care- products that support health, dignity and confidence, regardless of their circumstances.

In addition, we donate our products to children’s homes, including organisations supporting vulnerable children and those without parental care.

For Cape Town orders placed before 10am we aim for same day delivery; after 10am, next day. Elsewhere in South Africa it's the standard 2 to 5 working days.
