Neli & Co was born on the Indian Ocean coast in Kenya.

We had three children under three, so we were getting through a lot of nappies! Our children were living this beautiful life by the beach, but wrapped in plastic. At the same time, we would see nappies washing up on the shore while they played on the sand.

We started bringing in eco nappies from the UK, but they ran out quickly and, in reality, the performance was often inconsistent.

With a background in commodity trading, consumer goods, and sustainability spanning London, Dar es Salaam, and Nairobi, we found ourselves asking a simple question: why couldn't we build a brand in Africa to rival the very best brands in the world?

This was the beginning of Neli & Co.

We have been up and running since April 2021 in Kenya and have since expanded our range to include wet wipes, toilet roll, and sanitary pads. What began as a small idea has grown into a brand with a strong and loyal following - stocked in multiple supermarket chains and supplying many of the leading safari camps across the region.

We also noticed something unexpected: South Africans living in Kenya were carrying our products south whenever they visited home - they told us that nothing back home quite measured up ... that was the moment we knew it was time to bring Neli & Co to South Africa!

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to integrity, personal touch, and lived experience. These are not products designed from afar. They come directly from our own lives as parents.

Our children are now 10, 9, and 7. They are no longer in nappies, but they remain at the centre of why we do this - creating products that are better for the next generation, and giving families low-tox essentials they can trust.
